In any of our plant medicine retreats you will experience something special. Whether you label these experiences as "negative" or "positive", either way you will go home with an experience which you can learn from. To fully integrate and/or work with any experience, insight, feeling or inititation you might have had during a journey we share with you the following tips!
This is the most important one. if you want to take your new experiences and embed into your life, you have to take it easy. Try to stay away from your "old life" as long as possible, and gradually let it back in. If you jump into it like nothing ever happened, your brain and body are likely to go into an automatic mode, which makes it more difficult to integrate your lessons into your daily life.
Reserve a moment after a few days after coming home, when you have settled, to write down the experiences and (new) insights you have gotten and can still remember. Not only is repitition key, but you will also notice that you will understand things differently or that you have gained new insights.
Pick one insight that you really want to understand better and focus on this. It's better to focus on one insight than several. Then make a short list on how you can gradually and harmoniously integrate that topic into your daily life.
If you find it difficult to integrate your experience, you can look for integration counselling or coaching from someone who is familiar with the plant medicine realms.
We, Nancy and Isher, also offer assistance with psychedelic / plant medicine experiences in English and Dutch. Every monday we are available for these coaching/counselling sessions and each of us have our own way of assisting you.
